Atlasjet was established on March 14, 2001, licenced to carry out “Passenger and Cargo Transportation on Unscheduled Flights, Domestic and International “and operated its first flight on June 1, 2001.
Atlasjet quickly became an IATA member airline and increased its flights by 80% over a very short time period. Initially starting up with just two aircraft, Atlasjet has expanded its fleet to a total number of 18 aircraft, composed of one Airbus A319, four A320 and thirteen A321.
Atlasjet is the first private airline to launch e-ticketingin Turkey to allow its passengers issue their tickets through the web. It is the only carrier in Turkeythat offers interline connection with more than 70 foreign airlines.
Atlasjet operates scheduled domestic flights to Adana, Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman, Gaziantep, Istanbul Ataturk Airport, Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport, Izmir and to Arbil, North Cyprus, Kuwait, London, Mykonos, Sulaymaniyah, Tehran, Tbilisi and Nizhnekamsk internationally.
Atlasjet has also established the AFA (Atlantic Flight Academy) to provide professional pilot and cabin crew training, to meet the increasing need in the fast-growing aviation sector and the ATS Team, which was formerly known as Atlasjet Technic, to provide maintenance services under its EASA Part-145 approval, to various international airlines in addition to Atlasjet. This employs more than 480 staff including a highly experienced and certified team of engineers and technicians.
